What are so great about CHI flat irons?

I hear all the CHI, and CHI and this this that in school and how CHI is the best and everything, even on YouTube. And what the HELL is Sally's? I AM a tomboy if you're wondering, so I don't really care much, but the insanity has to stop!

I just use Conair, sprinkle some makeup and go.. Idk, whatever. What are so great about CHI flat irons?
Not sure how this question got into the ';golf'; category, but as I am an avid golfer AND a salon owner, you've still come to the right place.

CHI is ';great'; because it's marketed by a savvy guy. It's really just a $10 piece of crap. In fact, it's so crappy, that if it breaks and you send it in for ';warranty';, they just send you a new one because it's cheaper for them. Now, CHI irons ARE better than many out there because others are even cheaper still. We looked into private label importing and if you were importing 1500 irons (they're basically all made in China/Korea area), you could get custom silk screening of your logo, custom box, and on a boat for $6-13 each. $13 was for the newer LED digital whatevers. Since Farouk Systems orders them probably 100,000 at a time, you can imagine how cheap his are per unit.

But, if you've ever read anything by Farouk (like an interview), it's total nonsense. All the ';nano'; whatever stuff is JUST marketing! And did you know that the same CHI iron that has been out for years now is $20 more than it was when it came out?? I thought dated technology was supposed to get cheaper!

They have a 1 year warranty (or maybe shorter now). They get (so I've heard) as many as 20% back for warranty issues. T3Micro makes one that is as good or better but has a FOUR YEAR warranty...which they are good about honoring.

Retail, you're looking at around $170 for T3 vs $120 for CHI, but you're getting a better warranty and you WILL need that warranty.

Oh, and Sally's is beauty supply store. They carry stuff for the public and for professionals. They don't carry high end color lines, but they do have a lot of immediate need supplies that we usually get from a ';real'; supplier. They're like a convenience store. What are so great about CHI flat irons?
Sorry, CHI flat irons are not USGA approved and therefore not eligible for tournament use.
