How can i fix my Chi flat iron?

ok my stupid flat iron that cost over 100$ isnt working properly. is there somewhere i can send it to get fixed? does the manufacter have a repair dept? How can i fix my Chi flat iron?
I went on the chi website and found a place that had a phone number. I called them, sent it in, they fixed it and returned itHow can i fix my Chi flat iron?
It should come with a warranty. Check on the box for a phone number and contact the company and tell them your problem and you can send it to them and they will send you a new one for free..
its depends on where you got it from. Like i got mine from Ulta and it broke and they exchanged it. it might be possible for the place that you got it from to do the same thing.

What is so good about a 'chi' flat iron opposed to just a regular one?

The plates are much better for hair. However, while chi is expensive it is also made very cheap. They do not last long and are hard to return. A sedu is awesome, is about the same price as a chi and has tourmaline ceramic plates that make your hair look shiny and healthy after use! What is so good about a 'chi' flat iron opposed to just a regular one?
they are a lot better for your hair, they keep your hair from breaking and becoming more fried then a regular flat iron, but a g.h it.d is even better than a chi. it costs more but in the end would you rather have nice healthy hair or fried frizzy brittle hair? What is so good about a 'chi' flat iron opposed to just a regular one?
The ceramic plates seal the cuticle in the hair follicle (smoother for longer time) The cuticle in your hair is much like your pores on your skin. heat keeps them open and for your hair to be smooth you want them closed. The ceramic plates will do that.
Chi's have a ceramic coating. Most flat irons don't. The GOOD ones though are pure ceramic.

Bad= No ceramic.

Average= Ceramic Coating.

Good= Pure Ceramic.

Of course, all flat irons damage hair, but that is the scale if you want to get the highest quality.
Chi irons are just more user friendly, you know? It's an accessibility thing. What makes one designer, one politician, one soda better than another? It's preference, or maybe quality.
they last a long time, they get to the right temperature, they are ceramic and less damaging on your hair. but there are other brands that are just as good just do some research.
the ceramic plates and minimum breakage... the fast and easy styling =)
no that Lady's wrong! its way better and doesn't damage ur hair as bad as the other ones

i know my cousins a hair person hope i helped

they are amazing and worth the money
nothing [at least not for me]

my friend had the chi andi dont think it makes my hair as straight as my fhi

i like mine so much better and it was cheaper.

id never buy one.

just me\xx
They are amazing!

They heat up very quickly, not to heavy and they straighten extremely well, leaving no frizzies!
they have this ceramic ion heat transfer technology that makes your hair super straight

i just love mine.
Regular ones are fine.

You're just paying for a logo.
its supposed to be REALLY good.
make ur hair stay straight longer and less damaging to ur hair

  • Does a chi flat iron hurt the curliness of hair after a wile?

i recived a regular chi flat iron for christmas 2008

ever since i started using it insted of my other one i noticed that wen i wanted to wear my hair in my natural curls they were very flat and bigger curls than they had been before could this be because of my chi? cold it b ruining my curls?Does a chi flat iron hurt the curliness of hair after a wile?
when you straighten your hair too often your curls change its not the chi i have one its probably just bcuz u use it too often just use Aussie volume it will get you curls backDoes a chi flat iron hurt the curliness of hair after a wile?
If you are using a temperature of over 125 then it could be burning your hair. Burning can cause it to loose it's curl, but just using a flat iron cannot cause a change in the curl pattern. Make sure that you are using a salon quality conditioner and washing it out in cold water. This will help your hair to keep it's curl and be protected from the heat.
yes because you are training your hair to be straight stop using it for a while and your curls will return
No flat iron can do that.

    GHD vs. CHI flat irons?

I'm getting a flat iron for my birthday and i don't know which brand to get I'm not sure if I should get the GHD or the CHI. If yu know even better brands please tell me...

Thanks for the help! %26lt;3GHD vs. CHI flat irons?
    The GHD is better.

The CHI is really good, but the GHD wins.

I have the CHI and I love it, but if you have the money for a GHD then definitely get it.

You'll love the CHI too, so either ways they're both excellent straighteners.

Hope I helped you out :)GHD vs. CHI flat irons?
they are both good. i would go with the chi because its more affordable.

    Generic Vs. Chi Flat Irons?

Sally Beauty Supply has a line of generic products and use the words ';compare to'; on these products. I'm not sure of the prices, but I do know that they have flat irons and even the straightening spray. I'm wondering if anyone has tried these generic products and if they did indeed compare to the Chi.Generic Vs. Chi Flat Irons?
I have used some of the ';compare'; shampoos, conditioners and styling products and they seem to be fair to good. I honestly think there are some products that I need to buy the brand name.

As for ';compare'; flat irons? I'm not sure about that. I guess I might try it depending on the price difference, refund policy, etc. Is it worth the loss if it doesn't work.

I use the CHI flat iron and really like it. I know some friends who use ones from other makers and the results are not as good, but that might be a difference in our hair. I would stay with CHI. The stuff at Sally, I have found, has become poorer in quality and I don't trust a lot of what they sell anymore.Generic Vs. Chi Flat Irons?
Ceramic Irons are best....Sedu/Chi/ghds are all very good irons. I have a sedu and its amazing...salon results right at home.

I have had a conair 'ceramic' iron n it was horrible...never did anything n my hair was all brittle after using it..

I would recommned you to buy any one from the three above...in the long run these are worth it

    Good Luck
Always get a CHI, they don't damage your hair, they keep your hair straight all day, and they have a lifetime warranty. If you do decide to buy, I suggest you buy one from a JcPenney Salon because they have the best sales. Keep the box the iron came in, and if there is ever a problem with it, you just send the iron back in the box to the manufacturer and they fix it for free.
The CHI is the best. I have owned about 3 different irons, but i have had the CHI for the longest (about 4 years). It lasts a very long time, and is especially good for color treated hair, because it makes the color last longer because it seals it in. CHI is the only 5 star straightener in my book.

    CHI Flat Irons...again?

In addition to my previous question...I've noticed that there are a few different Chi irons out there. Which is best?CHI Flat Irons...again?
well as well as your hair length matters your hair thickness.

if you have thick hair or close to that, get the kind of CHI that just gets hotter and hotter and has absolutely no heat setting.

my hair is in the middle of thick and thin

    i use that.

and it works like a charm.CHI Flat Irons...again?
It all depends on the length of your hair. I actually do a review on CHI straighteners. If you're interested, you should check it out. It gives you some advice on how to choose the right straightener :]
Do you always wear your hair straight? If so I have the product for you!!! I have ';fluffy, fat, wavy hair'; and I like it straight. I used this permanant straightner called Thermal Ionic hair straightner for resistant hair. From Sally's. First you need a friend to do it for you. Then you wash your hair with the stuff they give you and then put a little of the conditioner on. Then have your friend apply the cream with a tinting paint brush (sold seperatly) let it sit for a while then wash it out. Blow dry until almost dry, and then straighten with a flat iron. Do it good though! Then I think you have to wash it again, and straighten again. I done this 2 1/2 months ago and I haven't had to straighten it since! My friend used the regular formula and she still has to straighten her hair and I used the formula for color treated hair first and it did NOTHING. So I strongly suggest the RESISTASNT formula, that way you wont waste money. They cost $39.00. An worth every penny!!!

    Chi Flat Irons/Straightners?

which is best for African american thick hair Chi camo Or Chi original??Chi Flat Irons/Straightners?
they're the same straightener, just one has a camo design and the other is plain black

there is no difference in performance and they both give the exact same results.Chi Flat Irons/Straightners?
all CHIs work fine i am a normal white girl with really curly hair and its really thick and longish so i use the chi turbo and it seems to work better than the original chi...
    they wouldd both work qreat

Where should I get a Chi Flat Iron?

Do you recommend the Chi? Where is the best place to get it from, I know you can sometimes find them on ebay but im worried about getting one and it not working. I had the generic chi (GVP) and it worked for a year and then quit working on me.Where should I get a Chi Flat Iron?
you can get one at REGIS!

    they are GOOD.

    I've used mine for years!

DUH!Where should I get a Chi Flat Iron?
I think you should get a Chi. They work great!

I have a Sedu, and I bought it off of folica.com. It's reliable, and you don't get a broken straightener or anything! ;]

Or you can buy them at a hair salon. Most sell Chis.

As for the brand, sorry, I'm not an expert on the different types of Chis! Sorry!

And I'm not sure if they still do, but I know Sally Beauty Supply stores carried them. And you might be able to buy them online from teir website. One of these will work! • All this hype on chi flat irons....is it worth it ...cant i just buy a really good ceramic one for like $60-70

i keep hearing all this hype on those irons ...im a guy ...and im trying to grow my bangs out ...but i have wavy hair in the front ...so i dont need major straightening.....what if i just get a good wattage one with ceramic plates....All this hype on chi flat irons....is it worth it ...cant i just buy a really good ceramic one for like $60-70
Chi straightners are top-notch, but to be reasonble just to straighten your bang's you really don't need one. Chi's are good for long damageged hair, but three or four inches of hair doesn't really have alot of damage. To prevent damageing your hair when you do buy a straightner, make sure you buy some kind of product to put on it before you straighten. All this hype on chi flat irons....is it worth it ...cant i just buy a really good ceramic one for like $60-70
I have the generic Chi from a beauty supply store and it works fine for me and my hair is extremely thick and wavy. i use that silk stuff made to use with a chi before drying my hair. Mine goes up to like 410 degrees i think. i use it on about 370.
Chi irons are the best, but if you're not going all out with the straightening, I would suggest a Conair iron. They're not expensive, but they're not junk either. You don't need to spend over $50 for an iron you aren't going to use that much. I have an iron I got for $50 bucks and it is awesome. Do find an iron that has ceramic plates though. It's better for your hair. They heat up faster, etc. I could go on for days! Good luck! Hope I helped some!

Well.. I wanted to get a CHI flat iron as my traditional Conair is starting to give out. I was wondering whether to get it from

    www.folica.com

    orr

    beautychoice.com

folica is cheaper but alot of people tell me beautychoice is more popular and trusted.

any advice?Where should I get my CHI flat iron from?
Well I just bought my Chi today at a local salon because it was a Chi-tah and I thought the cheetah print on it was cute and I couldn't find that one online. I got it for $150. But anyway, I would get it from Folica because it's cheaper and it is also a trusted site.Where should I get my CHI flat iron from?
I bought a straightener on folica a couple months ago. And it went well. So I say go with folica if its cheaper! =)

    CHI flat irons question....?

do any CHI irons come with a heat control button or do they all just have an on off button?CHI flat irons question....?
Some Chis do have temperature control, but you probably wont find it on the regular original iron. The Chi Turbo Flat Irons have temp. control, come in different widths, and are a lil more expensiveCHI flat irons question....?
just an on and off button sorry.
The turbos have temp. control, the regular ones do not, which if your hair is thin, or damaged, I do not recommend. I have a solia I just bought and it's amazing. Also, always use Chi heat protective spray.
i have a CHI iron and its with the on/off button...

and before i bought it when i was checking out different CHI irons, i think all of them were with the on/off button...

but dont worry it works perfectly..its the best iron ever and it doesnt burn or damage ur hair cuz its ceramic.
the chi nano is the one that goes off automatically and is really good about consistancy throughout the hair. it wont start cooling then being hot, and go back and forth. it will actually take less time - the first time you will get it straight, you dont have to go back and forth over it like you do with cheap flat irons.

    hope this helps hon!
Just with an off and on button sweety.
there are different types of CHI irons and some have just the on and off button and some have the heat control buttons

sedu. it doesn't damage your hair as much as the other ones and it's waaaayyyyy safer. trust me, i have one, and my hair doesn't get damaged easily.
    CHI is way better!
Chi!!! I have really thick, curly hair, and I use a chi. It completely straightens my hair and makes it really smooth and shiny. I've been straightening my hair for over a year now, and I still marvel at how nice it is every time I walk by a window or mirror.
Please tell me also when you find out, thanks!
CHI!!!!!!!!!!!! if u want soft n' silky hair that feels really smooth try the CHI one! I use it and I won my school's superlative for most glam girl, softest n' prettiest hair n' also 4 greatest style for hair!!! if u want to look glam use the CHI one!

    Who carries chi flat irons?

Sally Beauty Supply or your local upscale salon. I'd also check eBay. There's probably deals on them online, too.

It's funny that this is in the golf category. :DWho carries chi flat irons?
Try Sally Beauty Supply or any beauty salon in your area (might be more expensive in a salon though). I don't know if there are any where you live. I live in florida. There is a generic version of the Chi that is way cheaper and works just as good, it is called GVP (generic value products) and it says on the box it is the generic version of the CHI. I've had mine for a few years and it still works as good as it did 3 yrs ago.Who carries chi flat irons?
Is that made by Callaway? I think you can find them at Golf USA if I'm no mistaken. You can get them in pink or light blue depending on your favorite color. I don't think they are PGA compliant though.
I carry one in my bag all the time!

Chi flat irons??.. DO YOU RECOMEND THEM?

i have really curly thick hair..... and i have heard really good things about chi flat irons... do u reccmoend them.. and which models do u recomend?????

THANKS SOOO MUCH%26lt;3Chi flat irons??.. DO YOU RECOMEND THEM?
Chi's are LIFE! lol. I heard that a few models had a recall because of an electrical issue. But, if you're serious about buying one, I would go with the 1/2 inch thick one... not the one with red felt on the outside (it doesn't last very long). Any of the newer models work amazingly. I would check on eBay because you can get brand new ones for half the cost in retail stores. If you're worried about the electrical issue, you could try a Paul Mitchell 1/2 inch one, they work amazing as well. And I'm pretty sure they cost a bit less. Good luck!Chi flat irons??.. DO YOU RECOMEND THEM?
I've had my Chi flat iron for 4 years and it still works great. If you think it gets too hot they have one with heat settings. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative you could get a Bio Silk flat iron it's made by the same company Chi is made by (farouk systems) and has different heat settings. Chi's and the Bio Silk irons work very well but like with any flat iron the key to successful straightening is taking small sections when flat ironing.
No i dont recomen them, they burn your hair bad! and they leave ugly bumps, they make your hair frizzy, and they are smaller which means it will take you longer! i do not recomend it no, i do recomend CurlMaster Ceramics, that is the one i have after i got rid of the chi. it rocks! i love it! its plates are golden so it makes your hair soft, it wont burn your hair as bad as the chi (and yes straightners obviously burn your hair) it works faster, it doesnt take long to heat up, maybe just a minute! i definetly recomend it.
Yes chis are great irons, they are moderately priced and have plenty of different models. I have thick wavey hair and it does get it straight fairly easily. I use the ultra chi, which is an ulta salon/ store exclusive.

As far as the best irons go, and if you can afford it, get a ghd flat iron. They are really worth every penny, but are pricey.
they are really great I have one and I have reallllllly thick curly hair. those work well after blow drying straight and also another thing thats even better is the steamer flat irons. they are called Maxi-Glide. you put distilled water (just a little) in this tiny compartment and press a button and your thick curly hair will be SILKY SMOOTH STRAIGHT! just make sure no matter what iron you use you go slow, it'll be more effective.
Yes! I have one, and I use chi products and they work so well!

I also have thick curly hair, and this flat iron I got a few months ago works really well!

The one I have is the Chi Auto-Digital Advanced Technology Wet to dry ceramic flat iron. Works amazing. I also like their Keratin mist, and there products to make sure your hair doesn't burn while your using it.

    Hope I helped.

    Good luck with you choice!
Yes, they do work! The ceramic heating element is much healthier for your hair than a metal flat iron. It helps maintain the moisture level as apposed to completely drying out your lovely locks :-)

Consider trying a smoothing serum like Paul Mitchell 's Super Skinny in your hair prior to using your flat iron for added frizz control and super shine!
WOW! I have the same exact kind of hair as you! Yes chi flat irons work the best! I used to have a different brand and I would have to go over sections in my hair a bunch of times! However with the chi flat iron I only have to go over it once! I highly recommend it!!!!
Chi or She?!.... Chi look crap.. design quality is attrocious, they are chunky and horrible. You need to invest in some GHD's.. they are without a doubt the best irons available on the market. im on my third set and would swear my life on them being amazing. they are expensive but worth every penny.
Chi's work very well. I have really really curly and thick hair also, and I use a chi.

Make sure that you condition your hair well when you wash it though. You don't want hair like our's to fry.

    Good luck!
    YES!!!!!!!!

I have one and i reccomend it to everyone I know

my mom and i both have really thick hair and hers is oober curly and we straighten her hair all the time

    they are AMAZING!
NOOOOOOOOO%26gt; WAY to hot. I got a sedu. WAAAY better. Chi is known to burn out because of their high heat issues. Sedu was actually given to the stars a couple years ago in the gift bags. NOT sedu.
i got some flat iron that is like really expensive like the Chi but i like it way better. i dont remember what its called but it has blue things on it.
The Chi is DA BOMB! Definitely buy it! You can even curl hair really well with it!
My cousin has really curly hair and she owns a chi flat iron and it takes her like no time to straighten her hair. I would say go for the Chi
I love mine! I have heard that they break often, but I've never had any trouble with mine.

Sorry, I can't find my model number..
yes they are top quality irons.. :o)
They are the best thing since sliced bread. I use instead of pressing my hair. (Now you know they must be good)
    yep

    Chi flat irons? please answer!!!?

i want to buy a chi flat iron but can`t decide between the regular chi 1'; the turbo 2'; or the ';big chi'; which is a 2'; i have long curly hair and need a good straightner, also i heard that it dosent matter wether u use a 1 inch or a 2 inch it will straighten at the same rate, is this true? so which one should i get? thanks so much! also it would help if u`ve used them beforeChi flat irons? please answer!!!?
I would, with no hesitation, say go with the regular chi. I have medium length curly hair, and I like to wear it very -very- straight. The thing with curly hair is that you have to pay attention to the hair close to your head; it has to be straightened too. With the 1'; chi, you can do that sort of detail work. I own a regular chi, and I've also used the 2 inch. I find the regular one straightens just as well just as quickly. But the 2 inch made it a little more difficult to get that hair closer to my head. I adore my chi. It's a great straightener to go with. Even in humid weather, my hair stays straight if I use my chi. Definitely the 1';.Chi flat irons? please answer!!!?
With the two inch iron you can straighten more hair because its bigger and be done faster. But as a cometologist and after having my chi for six years I think the smaller is the best investment. You can style your hair more, plus if you decide to cut your hair shorter you can still use the smaller one
The only difference is that the 2-inch might straighten more at a time than the 1-inch. I like the 1-inch straighteners, because you can get closer to the scalp, and they're just easier to handle.
I've used a Chi, and honestly, they're overpriced. I'd actually recommend purchasing a different company's straightening iron, such as Helen of Troy, or Conair. Try a 2'; ceramic plated iron, as those work the best. I also have long hair, it is really wavy and the waves never go in the same direction! I currently own a Conair iron, the only problem is, it takes half an hour to do my hair, and 15 mins for touch-ups! The Chi irons can straighten my hair in 20 mins, with 10 min. touch-ups. Honestly, to me I'd rather spend less money, it's worth the extra time doing my hair. Just weigh your options, and determine if it's more important to get an iron that does the job quickly but for a higher price (Chi), or a little slower but a better job, and costs less (Conair, Helen of Troy, etc). You could also consider straightening irons sold in salons. They typically cost more than something you'd purchase at CVS, but most salon irons work well and you can see how they look when a stylist does your hair personally. Ask your stylist or another trusted hair professional what would work best for you if you're still confused.
Two inch straighteners are recommended for very long, thick hair. One inch straighteners are best for anyone, really, but if you want to get closer to your scalp, then the smaller one is best.
    1 inch is easier
get a little one so it's easy to pack away....there is no reason to have a large one. Chi's last FOREVER! they are expensive, but they last for a long time...
believe it or not the 1'; works best i bought all of them cuz i had super curly and thick hair

my hair gets so straight its rad!!!!

as a matter of fact my hair is naturalli strait now!!!!
    2'; is fast
    er u guy or girl?

because ............the reason you use a 1'; compared to a 2'; (usually) is

for short hair versus longer hair....

    if you are a guy and have short hair I would say get the 1';

...a 1 inch is normally better for shorter hair and doing little ';FLICKS'; on the ends....

the 2 '; is more of a work-horse...for long - thick hair..it isn't as easy to maneuver %26amp; definetly no good on short hair....

Size has nothing to do with speed....only length of hair and maneuvering

Not too sure why you are set on CHI, there are better brands...

    2 suggestions

I use the Magic FLAT irons...they have lowered their prices...and are nice....

    www.icreatemagic.com

    ~ my next one is going to be a GHD, they are a bit more pricey...{there are so many now....}

The company that makes the CHI - well their main business is HAIR products...i feel better when i buy a product from a company that specializes in it...

Both GHD and Magic that is basically how they built their businesses and they have been making them since before anyone heard of flat irons....

I bought my first flat iron in 1995! I bought it in

England they didn't have them here!
for me it didn't matter..but both my friedns have chis and they love them..one has short hair and has the 1 in and the other has reallllly long hair and had the 2 in and she said the bigger helps alot with time and heat.

How can I tell if my CHI flat iron is fake?

I recently ordered the classic black CHI from a website called www.basic-stylers.com for 59$. I think I've been ripped off though because it was so cheap. It looks like a regular CHI with the CHI logo in the circle on both sides, but it doesn't have the global beauty Logo on the top, how can I tell if I've been ripped off?

Yeh i got a discount on mine because i bought it in the store . Otherwise I would have to had paidover a hundred dollars.

try pressing on/off and reset one more time and then take it back to the store. Don't attempt to fix it unless you know what you're doing. It may make it worse if you have no idea what you're doing.

I have a chi flat iron that is broken for no reason and i want to send it back to get a new one?

I didnt drop it or do anything to it does anyone know how to come in contact with the company so that i can send it back?I have a chi flat iron that is broken for no reason and i want to send it back to get a new one?
Here is their consumer website warranty. It seems you will need to contact the store from where it was purchased, unless it was purchased directly from Chi.

Most reputable retailers will gladly let you do an even exchange since they can return the defective item directly back to the company (Chi). I have a chi flat iron that is broken for no reason and i want to send it back to get a new one?
Do NOT get CHI. my family went thru 5 CHI in 3 yrs. Chi breaks within a few months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get it fixed. Their warranty is worthless!

if the jc penney one is true thats cheap for 90. ULTA sells chi but they're way too expensive even with their sales. i got mine on a trip to TX for only 80 bucks. goodluck finding your chi.

    What's a chi iron?

    Are chi flat irons good?

i am getting a chi flat iron this week and before i get it i want to make sure they are truly good flat irons. Can you please tell me if it is good or not or if you don't recommend it can you tell me what you do prefer? Are chi flat irons good?
They are hte best, you will not regret buying one.Are chi flat irons good?
They're ok, but they dont work very well with thicker/coarse hair and they also have a 1 year warranty which means that they might die out within the year. So i bought a solia instead, they have a 2 year warranty and you can set the heat of the iron. I bought mine at folica.com which is a good site for many beauty products
Yes they are AMAZING!!! I just got one a few days ago and love it!!!! It heats up in seconds and straightens hair better than any iron I've ever used. While you are at the store buying your CHI, make sure to stop at the other CHI products and look for CHI 44 Iron Guard. I use it before straightening my hair and it prevents damage and frizz. It is a must-have~CHIs have a high temp. for straightening hair.
I have a chi flat iron and it works amazingly! My sister's hair is absolutely crazy without it and after she uses it it's all perfectly straight. Even if your hair is already straight like mine, it gets rid of all the fuzz beautifully! Definately get one!
    Yeah, they work really good.

    Compared to cheaper one.

They are expensive, but worth it.

    But, buy a straightening spray.

It helps keep your hair from getting burnt and damaged.

My aunt is a beautician, and she told me it keeps

    your hair healthy.

I use Design Line, and it smells good too (:
Yes, the are very good! Make sure you also buy heat protection spray/gel so you don't damage your hair. Also, Ulta is the best place to buy them, bc they are much cheaper there.
Um i have one and i do recommend it. Although Some people may say it is too expensive because it is around 100 bucks those 100 bucks are worth it.

    Glad I Could Help!,

    Lauren^^
they're helllla good and you can curl your hair with them.

you cant control the heat, but i dont really care about that you know.
    YES!! THEY ARE AMAZING!!
I loved mine at first, but after about a year, its not working as well, or almost at all.

    yes they are amazing!!!
They are fabulous. I love mine so much!

Does the Chi flat iron cause PERMANENT damage to hair?

My hair is REALLY damaged from using the Chi flat iron for so long without a heat protectant. So now I use it only on special occasions (about once every 2 months), letting my hair grow out. It's totally fried, kinky, and split!

This isn't permanent is it?Does the Chi flat iron cause PERMANENT damage to hair?
your hair must have been in really bad condtion before you started using it. get a good haircut, then start using it again. see if can see a difference. it has helpped my hair and i color my hair almost twice a monthDoes the Chi flat iron cause PERMANENT damage to hair?
My wife has been using it daily for several years and it has actually helped her hair. It may be the shampoo and conditioner you are using. She uses design line olive oil shampoo and conditioner.

And no it's not permanent. Get a deep conditioning treatment and have the dead ends trimmed off. It will grow out healthy again with time.
Yes and no. You can try protein treatments for the hair or you can snip the damaged ends off. Until your hair is in the best shape, I think that you should lay off the flat iron.
It's not murderous for your hair...it's better than most cheaper straighteners...but regardless, it is causing a bit of damage. The easiest way to solve yr problem is to buy a cheap heat protectant. Any kind of spray/gel. They sell (At Sally's Beauty Supply, dunno if you are familiar) an amazing leave in conditioner called Potion 9 that's a cheap knock off of a more expensive name brand, that works exactly the same. By Generic Laboratories or something similar. IT'S AMAZING! I have semi-fried hair and always use Potion 9 it makes my hair beeeeautiful! I would recommend that in between any kind of deep treatments...i use it every day. You can't even tell there is any damage at all.

How hot does a CHI flat iron get?

    hey everyone!

I just bought myself a chi straightener and was wondering how hot it gets (I saw it didn't have temp. control and was just wondering)

Thanks alot! How hot does a CHI flat iron get?
About 400 degrees. Use a heat protection such as Iron Silk by Redken or Iron Guard by CHI. This will lessen your hair getting burned. How hot does a CHI flat iron get?
It can get hella hot! Its a great straightener though. Try Youtubing it so you can learn how to use it and get the most out of it.
Hi, I love Chi flat irons! They dont have a heat control, but they do get very hot! Not sure exatly how hot, but they are great! Be careful and hope this helps!

The standard size ones can be purchased from $50-100 on Ebay. My sister bought one a few months ago off of their. I purchased my Corioliss for $180 at a nearby mall around the same time she did. Although both of the flat irons work very well, mine is better because it does less damage and gets my hair straighter in half the time.
depends what color you want but the black ones are the cheapest they run for about $120-$130 at a salon store or if you buy a special addition one (i have a pink one with the diamonds on it) they run for about $140-$200

or you can buy them for like $80 on amazon.com or ebay but i wouldnt do that they might be a knockoff
They cost about $100 but you can get ones just as good for way less like conair that heats up to 375 degrees. I have both and the conair for $40 is way better than the chi. You are only paying for name not the quality of the product!
    99-130

Depending on where you buy it. Jcpenny has sales and they will go for 99.00. But retail value is 129.99.

Yes Chi are real good, dont forget to buy a heat protector serum for the hair. Prior to any heat applied.
their about $120 or $130, depends where you buy it.

    and yeah they work great!

i have one and i can straighten' my hair in about 15 minutes and with other ones it takes about 40 minutes.

    hope i helped!
YES. i have had mine for 7 months, and i absolutly lovee it. it works amazingly good. but they are expensive, so i bought mine off of ebay.

  • Question about Chi flat irons?

    Hello,

I'm going to be getting one this month. What's the difference between the original, turbo, and nano flat iron? Are they for different kinds of hair? My hair is frizzy, wavy, and fine.

    Thanks!Question about Chi flat irons?
I really don't see the difference. Some say the turbo works better. But the Nano is about the same. I have an original, and it works AMAZINGLY on my frizzy, thick, curly, long hair. With it, it takes me about 30 minutes to straighten my hair.Question about Chi flat irons?
Well I don't have any of them, but I'm gettin one this month too, and I heard that the turbo is more exspensive so idk if its better than the original chi. DONT get the Nano, it really sucks like crazy, it looks like it takes forever to straighten hair. Lol But I'm gettin the original chi just because most people who own chi's have that one. But you could go to Youtube.com and just type in ';Chi Turbo Straightner Review';. %26amp;%26amp; that should help you lots.

    Chi flat irons...? help please?

I'm thinking about getting one but I read a lot of reviews and they say they break a lot or just stop working... is this true?

Which would you prefer a sedu or a chi?Chi flat irons...? help please?
the CHI works amazing, my friend has one but she broke hers. the GVP (which is what i have) works just as good as the CHI but it's a lot cheaper ( 60-70$) so i'd say go for the CHI if you're willing to spend a lotChi flat irons...? help please?
well, I had a chi one and suddenly it just stopped working - almost like it blew a fuse or somthing. It wouldn't stay on and it had kept emitting this horrible smell. I sent it back to the place, but they havn't gotten back to me yet. :(

maybe the sedu is better...wish id'a read about it first!!!
i got one fer christmass this year n it works finee

    its like the best

    it dosent break..:]
Remember a flat iron causes big problems on fine hair. You must be very carefull. Have a pro do it first.
I've had my CHI for a year and drop it A LOT. But mine still works like the day I got it :)
if you're hesitating about both of them

maybe you should try the GHD

    good luck
    ew straight hair is OUT!

    CHI flat irons? Temperatures?

What are the one inch CHI's temperatures? like what temperature is it set on? becuase i have the 2 inch CHI and i dont know what temperature to set it and i was thinking of setting it to the temperature the other ones have.

and also .. what is the difference between a regular CHI and a nano CHI????CHI flat irons? Temperatures?
CHI's do not last long. They break way too easily. Don't waste your money, and don't listen to the one's that are telling you it's the best. Sedu is one of the best straighteners out there and it is only $100.

To purcase a Sedu at the cheapest price, go to Folica.com , scroll to the very top and click on Hair Styling. On the left hand side, there will be and A - Z brand list. Find Sedu, click on it, and everything else from there is self - explanitory.

For more information on a Sedu, you can go to sedubeauty.com.

I would also recommend using a 1 inch instead of 1 1/2 inch, because the 1 1/2 doesn't do curls very well.

It reaches 410 degrees, with tempature control if you would like a lower tempature. CHI does not have tempature control. That means if the set tempature is too high for your hair, it can fry.

Celebrities have nice hair, and they don't use CHI. They use Sedu. There is something called Sedu hairstyles on every beauty website. No CHI hairstyles right?

    Never use on wet hair.

Also, on Folica.com, people can post reviews on products after they have tried them. Here are they stats on CHI:

73 people say it is 1 star (bad) out of out of 1275 total reviews.

    Sedu:

29 people say it is 1 star (bad) out of 3881 total reviews.

    That speaks for itself!

If your hair starts to get damaged, turn down the tempature.

    Take a look at this.

    http://www.folica.com/appliances/straigh鈥?/a>

Note how CHI is number 7.

Note how GHD is number 4.

Sedu is the top flat iron and there is proof!

Or if you want something a little cheaper but also is still better than the CHI, get a Solia, it is second in line to the Sedu.

But the Sedu really is better. CHI fried my hair.CHI flat irons? Temperatures?
there temperature's are all the same. just different qualities and names. a CHI simply has an on and off switch, so i dont see how you could set the temperatures at.
Least - 30 Degrees (Or 50 degrees, forgot)

    Max - 200 degrees.
CHI's arnt very good......everytime i get one there is always something wrong with it!!

Are these two CHI flat irons the same?

Okay, so I am looking to buy a CHI flat iron from folica.com.

Firstly, everyone says CHI is great. Would it work well on my hair, which is very very thick, and frizzy?

And secondly, are these two the same, but the second one just comes with a pouch?

    http://www.folica.com/CHI_Ceramic_Fla_d2鈥?/a>

    HELP PLEASE, THANKS!

:)Are these two CHI flat irons the same?
Yes, they are the same...CHI has a wonderful product line....their falt irons are wonderful!!! I also have unruly, thick, frizzy, extremely curly hair %26amp; I use CHI %26amp; I love it!!! It really doesn't matter what brand of flat iron you get you just need one that is ceramic %26amp; goes up to about 450 degrees..but their products are awesome!!! (Straight Guard, Silk Infusion, the Shampoo %26amp; conditioner) you really need to use product to protect your hair from the heat from flat irons..if not the frizzyness will not go away....hope this helps....( i'm a hair stylist)Are these two CHI flat irons the same?
I dont think chi is a get hair straightener. I always ehar people saying that it breaks so quickly. and having thick hair myself a 1'' hair straightener isn't wide enough.

    -consider this Bedhead hairstraightner.

    http://www.target.com/Head-Professional-鈥?/a>
They are both the same, only one of them has the pouch that comes with it, but CHI really does work well %26amp; you'll get great results.
they will work great on your hair i have the same texture as you and it works perfectly on my hair
yes but the one with the pouch is like 10 dollars more

If I spiral perm my hair can I use the chi flat iron?

    Spiral perm?

If I spiral perm my hair can I use the chi flat iron to straightened my hair for a differnt look so that I don't have to wear it curly all the the time.If I spiral perm my hair can I use the chi flat iron?
are you sure you want to spiral perm your hair?

because you can just make it look naturally curly and THEN if you want spiral curls than you can use a curling iron. when your hair is curly/wavy, you can wear it natural, straighten it, or curl it MORE!If I spiral perm my hair can I use the chi flat iron?
Nope, nope, nope...Flat ironing your hair will progressively relax your perm and break off your hair.
Yes....It should work! My sister has one and it works great!

No, if you trim them off they'll go away.Does the Chi flat iron cause PERMANENT damage to hair?
Aww Im so shorry I fell s-h-i-t telling you this because hair is a girls life, but I'm afraid it is! Go to a salon, splash out on a TRIM and an intensive hair mask, keep using treatments after that from the super market, and only shampoo it when nessicary! If you depend on straightening it to have high self esteem, then make sure you use heat protection spray!! Treseme do a good one, then a lovely leave in condioner is Redken all soft (they also do a goregous mask, but its pricey!) good luck!!!!!!!! Oh yeah also listen to any advice the hairdresses has for you! xXx
Actually CHI is one of the best and most protectant. It's not the product you use. It's how much you use it! Stop flat-ironing! From now on only for special occasions, and if you want your hair straight for work, blow-dry. It's way safer.

But that is for later. Now you have to restore your hair.

For two weeks, NO PRODUCTS OR STYLING.

Get a good hair cut and get out all the damaged ends. Use VO% hot oil (it works great) and for two weeks wash your hair every other day. Comb it out and try not to tie it! That can damage too. Don't use the blow-dryer or flatiron or any gels, and your hair should begin to get better.

Chi flat irons difference in style?

is there a difference between the original chi straighteners if you get the original black one, or you get a colored one? i know there are no OPEN difference but anything different people have noticed? the colored ones obviously look a tad cheesier but i found a pink one i like, does the coloring affect the way it works in ANY WAY?

I am a sales rep for a different flat iron company (I distribute GHD) and I can tell you that although the colors are different, the technology inside is EXACTLY the same :)

So get the pink one!Chi flat irons difference in style?
The Balck ones might work better, since they accumalate more heat. Just like ( for example) when you where a black shirt outside it attracts more heat, rather than a lighter colour. To tell you the truth right now, i don't think it's gonna make a big difference . If you like the pink one get it. My friend has that one and it works fine !:)
woah i wish i got my CHI for that cheap! mine was $200 + dollars!

It works wonders for hair!! I have Long, very curly hair and I blow dry then flatiron with 2 inch CHI and CHI heat protector 2-3 times a month. It makes my hair silky and bone straight.

If you have Med-long hair you should get the 2';. 1'; for short hair. Make sure you use a heat protecting spray. CHI has a great one! Don't apply the iron EVERY DAY. Maybe once a week. Too much heat on hair is damaging.

The problem I have with the lower end CHI's is they don't have an adjustable temperature, when you step up into the CHI Turbo price range you get the adjustable digital temp control, definitely a must have if you're buying a professional flat iron.

Sedu is the best straightener, but quite expensive. Honestly, in this case, the expensive ones are the highest quality. I really would encourage you to invest in a nice one. Not just because it works really well, but because nicer ones protect your hair and don't pull or fry the hair. And always make sure to use a heat protectant spray. ;)What is the next best thing to a CHI flat iron?
If you go to TJMaxx, they sometimes have straightners there. I got my PHI (A fake CHI) there for $29.99. I have had a CHI before, and it was nothing special, the PHI is my all time favorite starightner. At TJMaxx they also might have Bed Head Straightners for about $29.99. Those are good, if you have wavy hair. Any straightner on the market that the original price is about $30 is going to work just fine.

    Hope I helped :D
professional by remington (1inch). it's great and only 40$ at walmart of 45$ online from http://www.remington-store.com/. you can also adjust the temperature and it heats up under a minute.

About the CHI flat irons does anybody know the highest degrees it goes like 400F etc.?

yeah. but never straighten your hair with it that hot, there's no need for that.

Chi flat irons? which one to buy?

At target there is a chi for $109 which isnt bad. its is pink. but i was wondering if i should get a little more expensive one or will that one work great for my extra extra thick hair? Chi flat irons? which one to buy?

They have reviews for the CHI and lots of other top brands. I bought the Sedu and am thrilled with it! I fully believe you get what you pay for in hair irons. And most of the reviews have before and after pics so you can see for yourself before you buy.

I've never used the CHI but everyone says it ';like totally awesome'; lol. But apparantly it breaks pretty easy..Just keep in mind if you buy the CHI, don't buy it online because that voids the one year warranty. They are wonderful!!! My hair is really lond and I it only took an hour and a half to flat iron witha Chi. They dont damage your hair and they make your hair silky. They range from $99 to $150. But they are worth it.
um i have one and it works great( i have REALLY thick wavy hair and it gets it pin straight) and my mom got ours for $100 at overstock.com
they aren't worth it my friend got it and it messed up her hair
well yeah i could say they pretty good but the sedu is better but a little more money so yeah get the sedu
i dont know about Chi, but i have a really good one its Wigo europe Onyx.IT has solid ceramic plates that straighten and smooth. it heats up quickly and evenly expose hair to less damaging heat ,eliminates frizz and eliminates damaging hot spot...

I am a hairdresser i have been doing hair for about 10 years now. I also have the naturally curly frizzy nappy hair. In my experiences with CHI, I've already had to send back 7 of them since i began purchasing them back in 2002. But I too have had the same problems as the general public with the iron coming on and going off. For a while, i had to turn my cord at the base certain ways just to get the light to stay on so i could smooth out my hair. Farouk charges us $20 to send the iron back and we do request that the client pay this to cover those costs. CHI is good iron overall, I will definitely be trying other flat irons.

I don't know anything about flat irons, but I do know a little about long hair. If you want long hair, the straightener isn't going to help with that. Heat damages hair %26amp; it will often get to a point where it breaks off. Of course, it depends some on your definition of long - Arm pit length? Bra strap length? Waist? Classic? If you're going for the longer lengths, I would stop ironing it on a regular basis. Just my view...

Is it normal for the LED light on a Chi flat iron to slightly flicker?

I just got it from Ebay, so I want to make sure it's not defective. When I plugged it in, first it was solid red, then it seemed to flicker. The instruction manual says the light flashes. Is supposed to flash on and off steadily or just flicker? I only had time to test it for a minute or two before I left the house. Any tips or info is appreciated! Is it normal for the LED light on a Chi flat iron to slightly flicker?
I got a Chi for Christmas and it does the same thing. It works just fine!Is it normal for the LED light on a Chi flat iron to slightly flicker?
Yes; it is completely normal. It doesn't flash. It's more of a flicker. It's a pretty weak light.
I think so, I got mine brand new and that's what it does. There isn't anything wrong with it, so yeah I would think that it is normal.
Mine has a temperature control, and it flickers based on the temperature. It's a solid light if I turn it up all the way, but the lower it goes, the more sporadically it flickers.

Does the chi flat iron spray work wonders?

or will it leave my hair full of static? I am desperately looking for a thermal spray to use before flat ironing and I need one that will leave my hair looking soft and static free...any suggestions?Does the chi flat iron spray work wonders?
the Chi Silk Infusion spray works on some people, but not all people.

If you ask me, its way too expensive for what it may or may not do.

Beyond the Zone is a great spray that can be found at your local Sally Beauty Supply. It may make your hair a little bit greasy before hand, but after you straightne it, the greasy feeling will go away and it'll leave your hair soft and shiny, without static:

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/heat-protecti鈥?/a>

Tresseme and VO5 also make thermal sprays that get great reviews, they're only about 4 dollars a piece and can be found at your local target.

Good luck!Does the chi flat iron spray work wonders?
i suggest the fredrick fekkai spray. just spray your hair before you starighten and it will come out smooth and shiny. also if you do yur hair in the morning and you don't get out of the house until an hour later, oput you hair in a LOOSE ponytail so that it doesn't get messed up while you get dressed or whatever.
i bought it and i thought it would help my hair, but it didnt do ANYTHING.

my hair is still damaged, the spray did nothing but make my hair greasy.
yes it is amazing. it actually takes away the static. use it w/ the chi or amika flat iron tho.
No I have 2 bottles of the spray doesn't work at all. To be honest I have yet to find on that absolutely works wonders, however the best one I have found is the Tresemme one, my hair is still a little frizzy but I have found that it makes my hair a tad bit shinier.

P.S another tip for staticy hair, dryer sheets! I know sounds funny, rub em' up on your hair it works.

    Hope this helps. (:

    CHI flat irons!?

    hello.

i have a few questions about the CHI flat irons.

    1) How well does yours work?

    2) How long on average does it take you to straighten your hair with the flat iron? (thin, thick or medium hair type?)

    3) How long did yours last? (I heard they don’t have a long lifespan)

    4) What size is best? (2”, 1” ½”)

you dont have to answer all of these, but that would be helpful

    Chi flat irons??????/?

I have really puffy hair after it has been washed. I wanted to know if anyone used the chi? does it work on black woman hair? Is there a place that sells them for cheap? I know they are 129 dollars in targetChi flat irons??????/?
Hi I've been a stylist for 20 years. I can tell you this.

It is not the brand of the iron that gets your hair straight, it's the temperature.

You can a good ceramic plate iron for a fraction of the cost.

Just find one that heats up to the same temperature and buy it.

Technique is als important. Flatten your hair in small sections.Make sure is is completley dry.

If you are dead set on a chi I have seen them on sale @ sally bty supply for as low as 89.99

And yes, any iron with enough heat will flatten your type of hair.Chi flat irons??????/?
They work really great, my sister in-law is an african american, and it works for the texture of her hair, she loved my CHI flat iron, so she bought one for herself. I don't think it sells any cheaper than that unless you get a good bidding rate on one from ebay.

    Chi flat irons?

Is there a difference between the original black Chi flat iron,

and the Chi pink Dazzle Limited Edition flat iron, besides

    just the color.

    Does one work better?

Which chi do you think works the best?Chi flat irons?
this isnt a forsure fact but some of my friends have the pink chis and some have the black ones and from my experience, the black ones work betterChi flat irons?
not sure why the color would matter on the quality but there may be a difference. as for them sucking, they dont.

just take care of it, dont throw it around.

also, wrapping the cord around the iron isnt good because it makes the copper inside the cord break so the chi doesnt last as long. but thats with any straightener.

and honestly, ive used straighteners that get thier temp. up higher that the chi but past about 400, my hair seems to fry. i think 400 is good enough.

if you cant get your hair straightened with that type of temperature then you need to get a relaxer or something because your hair is going to be super fried.

    That speaks for itself!

If your hair starts to get damaged, turn down the tempature.

    Take a look at this.

    http://www.folica.com/appliances/straigh鈥?/a>

Note how CHI is number 7.

Note how GHD is number 4.

Sedu is the top flat iron and there is proof!
I have had a CHI for over a year. There is no tempature settinh and it fries your hair, leaving it smelling burnt, crunchy, and frizzy/dry. It is especially hard on bleached/colored hair. a Sedu has heat settings and doesn't dry your hair out.

  • What should I use before using a CHI flat iron?

I just got the CHI 1'; Ceramic Hot Iron and I am wondering I should use on my hair before straightening it. And also where I can get the products. Please give me actual stores, not links to where I can get it online.

ThanksWhat should I use before using a CHI flat iron?
I personally use the CHI silk infusion and the CHI 44 iron guard because I love their products and you can find them at walmart but they are sometimes a bit pricey so any drugstore heat protectant would work. Tresemme is my fave drugstore brand or John Freida! What should I use before using a CHI flat iron?
you should get heat protectant. you can get the chi brand

but its probably more expensive. i just use treseme heat protectant.

its black and red, and i got it at walmart.

    (:
CHI silk infusion is great stuff, also the Sedu heat protectant works really well.

You can find both at http://www.folica.com (FOLICA)
You could use Chi Iron Guard 44... you should be able to buy it at the same place that you bought the iron. Hope that helps!
CHI 44 iron gaurd. Get it at any drug store that sells CHI products. Like target.

Chi's are definitely one of the best available straighteners on the market. That or a Biosilk (which is made by the same maker as Chi's).

I have two Chi irons and they both just stopped heating up after the two year warranty expired.Does anyone know a place where i could send in my Chi Flat iron to be either fixed or replaced?
If your straightening iron breaks all you have to do is send 35 dollars to this address: Farouk Systems Group 250 Pennbright Houston, Texas 77090

Send your address and a description of what is wrong with the iron and they will fix it and send it back to you.Does anyone know a place where i could send in my Chi Flat iron to be either fixed or replaced?
i would suggest calling the 1-800 # on the box. if you don't have the box anymore, then go to the store and write it down from another box.

    EDIT: (800) 237-9175 call between 8am %26amp; 5pm CT Monday thru Friday

EDIT: i would call before sending it in with money.
If you still have the warranty info, you can call them and ask them for a number. If not, try to surf the web for Chi Flat Iron Repair. Good luck.
search Sally's and like keyword hair, beauty..

    they sale chi's

maybe you can get their number and call them.

Where exactly can I buy a Chi Flat iron?

I saw one at Target, but people told me to buy it from the salon, because that is the only way the warranty would be valid. Is there a website I can go to to buy it?Where exactly can I buy a Chi Flat iron?
ulta.comWhere exactly can I buy a Chi Flat iron?
I would buy one from here:

    http://www.simplystraighthair.com/Straightening-Irons/chi-flat-irons

They are an ebay store so they have much lower prices than in stores, and most of the flat irons still come with a one year manufacturers warranty. Just check the individual listing details of the ones you are interested in to see if they have a warranty. I looked and a lot of them do.

Good luck! I love my CHI!
I got mine at a store called Tuesday Morning. If you have one in your area it a lot cheaper to get it there than to go to a salon. A chi is still a chi whether you spend $100 or $40 (that's how much mine was)
    Here are some of them

best site for Chi products. :) lots of variety
Sally's or another professional hair store like Sally's

    or www.beautychoice.com
if u see them at a discount store like that they normally go really fast u should go to a beauty supply store
Try www.beautychoice.com. But, I got my Chi on ebay for 40 bucks! And it works great, I love it! So I would try ebay if I were you.

Where can I get a refund for my CHI flat iron?

I bought a CHI flat iron in some beauty supply store at the beginning of the year. It won't turn in for some reason, and I want to return it. I can't find an official online site for the CHI straightener. Help anyone?Where can I get a refund for my CHI flat iron?
take it back to where u brought it and request a refund. ask for the manufactures phone number is necessaryWhere can I get a refund for my CHI flat iron?
That happened to me too. If you tried returning it to the beauty supply where you bought it and they didn麓t take it back, call Farouk Inc. (the Chi manufacturers) If you have had the Chi for less than a year they will give you a brand new Chi once you return your old one.

If it is older than a year you麓re not covered by the 1 year warranty but you can still call, I think you have to pay for them to repair the appliance ($35.00) and for shipping and handling.

    Their number is: 1-800-237-9175

For more info on how to contact them go here: http://www.farouk.com/contact.html

    Hope that helps!

How can I clean residue off my CHI flat iron?

My CHI has residue on it from hair products that I use. How can I clean this off without harming my iron? How can I clean residue off my CHI flat iron?
Wet down a face cloth with water and rub off the residue (while it is turned off of course) !!How can I clean residue off my CHI flat iron?
I tried to use a cloth, but that didn't work with my CHI. Some of the residue came off when I used a wipe, but not all of it.

Section a piece of hair, pull to the ends with the chi and twirl up or down depending if you want a curl look or a flip look. Continue doing this over and over until all your hair is done. (Tip: Try putting some mousse on your hair before you start styling it.) I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Who invented the chi flat iron and when?

I can't really find it anywhere but i suck at researching so please help?Who invented the chi flat iron and when?
    D. Lee invented the original ceramic flat iron in 1980. He later found Global Beauty Network Inc to produce the first commercial flat iron (http://www.globalbeautyinc.com/).

How do you use the Chi Flat Iron?

I have pretty straight hair, and use it for touch ups, but I want to find out how to curl my hair with it. I know you can, I just really want to find out how!

Thanks in advance! How do you use the Chi Flat Iron?
    i use a chi too...

section your hair then if you want you can get this special kind of spray made especially for your chi and spray it evenly on the section your curling. then wave your hair from root to tip. it works well... keep repeating till your done. then put chi silk infusion. have fun!!!How do you use the Chi Flat Iron?
hey nice name u got there!

oh, about the question....no clue sory :(

When do I know my Chi Flat Iron is ready?

I looked through the user's guide but I couldn't find anything about it. All it said was that the light may flash when it's going through the heating cycles, and there are no settings you can choose for your hair type. But I don't know how to tell when it's fully heated. Will the light stop flashing? When do I know my Chi Flat Iron is ready?
I usually use mine within a few minutes of it being plugged up. It heats up fairly quickly and I don't need a lot of heat in my hair so the sooner the better. I let it sit for about 2 min before using. The light will not go off, it consistently blinks. When do I know my Chi Flat Iron is ready?
stick your tongue on it. If it burns , its ready.
It says it takes about 60 seconds to heat up, so what I do is plug it in, set the temperature, and go get dressed, or go get my makeup, or wash my face or something. Unlike Remington's Wet 2 Straight, it does not beep. Hope this helps!
    first girl answer rules!!!!
Try turning the knob all the way up. To like 10. Thats what i do. It gets really hot and really straight.
they heat up in about 60 seconds or less.....just start using it around then and you'll be able to tell based on how well it straightens
My CHI only takes about 10 seconds to heat up. I plug it in and about 10 seconds later the light starts to flicker and I run it through my hair and its ready. No, the light keeps flickering it doesn't stop.
ROFL sarah! you're remingtons are fast at 5 minutes heating up time? My GHDs take 7 seconds. Now THATS fast.
Can you stil return it? I've had a Remington Wet-To-Straight for well over a year now and it works better than my best friends chi. Its fast, takes about 5 minutes to get to the hottest temo, but is ready to use in three or four if you choose a lower setting. Its only 20.00 or so at Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, and Wal-Mart. If not... put a drop of water on it.. if it hisses a bit it should be ready...
